Designed for experienced people managers and team leaders wanting to take their next career step, this course offers a broad, strategic perspective on designing and implementing relevant training and learning courses for employees in a range of industries.
You’ll learn how to design assessment tools, learning strategies and learning resources, and you’ll be encouraged to evaluate your work as you progress. With a focus on innovation and high-level thinking, this course will challenge you to produce dynamic, relevant strategies to suit your workplace requirements.
You’ll have the opportunity to conduct education research, and to evaluate both a training program and an organisation’s training needs – providing you with unique strategic insight into learning development planning.
With a focus on building students’ leadership capabilities, this course offers significant opportunities for you to assess and evaluate training projects. You’ll conduct practical work and gain insights into training planning that will later inform your own work.
This course is conducted online and also includes 10 days of on-campus learning, giving you maximum flexibility and key insights and ideas from experienced professionals; you’ll also have the chance to network with potential new contacts in a unique learning environment.
To be eligible for entry into this course, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years or older; AND
- Completed Australian Year 12 schooling; OR
- Demonstrate that you have the skills and capability to succeed in the course by completing the Diploma Entry Test.

- TAEDES501 -Design and develop learning strategies
- TAEDES502 – Design and develop learning resources
- TAEDES505 – Evaluate a training program
- TAETAS501 – Undertake organisational training needs analysis
Pre-selected elective units:
- TAEASS501 – Provide advanced assessment practice
- TAEASS503 – Lead assessment validation processes
- TAEASS504 – Develop and implement recognition strategies
- TAELLN501 – Support the development of adult language literacy and numeracy skills
- TAERES501 – Apply research to training and assessment practice
You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if your previous education or work experience meet certain criteria.
