About this unit
This unit in Broadcast Journalism encourages students to develop their practical skills and explore the process of creating a news broadcast from start to finish.
The unit, provided online by Griffith University and Open Universities Australia, covers a variety of topics: from the more technical details of camera and sound, to the vocational settings of the studio and newsroom. Additionally, there are more academic topics, including the history of broadcast journalism.
This unit is designed for third year undergraduate students, building upon the knowledge gained in previous journalism and media units, and focuses on the more advanced aspects of presentation, production, problem solving, and critical evaluation in media productions.
It is a practical course assessed by three short assignments and one extended project.
