About this unit
This online Offender Profiling unit from Open Universities Australia and Griffith University introduces students to the evolution of profiling through a combination of theory and practical application exercises.
Students will learn about profiling as a multidisciplinary practice that draws on psychiatry, psychology, criminology, geography and forensic science. Students will also grasp the key uses and approaches to profiling, and learn the practical applications of this specialised skill in different fields of enquiry.
The unit teaches students to synthesise complex information to construct a profile, critically evaluate its accuracy and utility, and understand the ethical implications of offender profiling.
