About this unit
In this Sexology in a Contemporary Context unit, offered by Curtin University, you will study the complex current issues surrounding human sexuality. The way society both views and determines individual sexual health will be discussed and you will look at the issues surrounding sexuality, gender and different sexual behaviours.
The various impacts of sexual abuse on sexual health are studied, as well as Indigenous sexual health issues and controversial topics such as circumcision and female genital mutilation.
You will also critically examine sexual culture and subcultures, and sexuality for people with disabilities.
