About this unit
Learn the characteristics and conventions of creative non-fiction writing, and how to apply them to your own work, with the online Writing Creative Non-Fiction course unit from Curtin University.
Across all fields and genres of writing, holding your audience’s attention is paramount to successfully delivering your message. This unit gives you the tools and creative writing techniques needed to engage others and tell your story.
Encompassing everything from journalistic, narrative, essayist and story-telling techniques, the unit trains you to analyse and critique a range of creative non-fiction texts, helping to advance your own creative writing processes.
In 13 weeks, you will learn how to bring life to your non-fiction work by developing your scenes, characters, dialogue and story telling. You will also cover the ethics, privacy and cross-cultural issues associated with writing about real people and events.
The unit also contains adult themes, which may not be suitable for some students. If you are under 16, you will need to complete a parental consent form, prior to enrolling in this unit.
