About this course
Improve the lives of others and start a dynamic new career with the Bachelor of Nutrition from Torrens University Australia.
You’ll develop a comprehensive foundation of scientific knowledge to inform your work – learning about anatomy, physiology, chemistry, pathophysiology and the ability to make clinical enquiries and interpretations of your findings. You’ll study the body’s relationship with macro and micronutrients, and develop a comprehensive understanding of disease and its effect on the body.
Your theoretical learning will be informed by a sound contextual teaching of the complex system in which nutrition exists. You’ll study the social, environmental and ethical dimensions of nutrition, the role of public and community health, and have the opportunity to pursue further inquiry with a research project into a particular population.
With a global perspective, this course encourages you to think widely and critically about the challenges and complexities of nutrition.
After graduation, you may choose to pursue further study: in this course, you’ll reach the level of chemistry knowledge required for postgraduate study in dietetics, further enhancing your career opportunities as a qualified dietician.
