The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), offered by Insight Training, is designed to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge required to support people with disabilities. After achieving this qualification, students may undertake the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability.

This course is delivered in-classroom at one of Insight Training’s campuses:

  • Joondalup (day classes available)
  • Morley (evening classes available)

120 hours of work placement is also required.

Please Note: This course is NOT available to people on a 500 or 600 visa.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, but it is preferred that students have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent.

Students will be required to provide a current National Police Check certificate prior to commencing the practical work component of the course.

While completing the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) qualification from Insight Training, you may study the following subjects:

  • CHCCCS038 – Facilitate the empowerment of people receiving support
  • CHCCCS040 – Support independence and wellbeing
  • CHCCCS041 – Recognise healthy body systems
  • CHCCOM005 – Communicate and work in health or community services
  • CHCDIV001 – Work with diverse people
  • CHCLEG001 – Work legally and ethically
  • HLTINF006 – Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
  • HLTWHS002 – Follow safe work practices for direct client care

Elective units:

  • CHCAGE007 – Recognise and report risk of falls
  • CHCCCS001 – Address the needs of people with chronic disease
  • CHCCCS044 – Follow established person-centred behaviour supports
  • CHCDIS011 – Contribute to ongoing skills development using a strengths-based approach
  • CHCDIS012 – Support community participation and social inclusion
  • CHCDIS020 – Work effectively in disability support

120 hours of work placement is also required.
