This online, self-paced course spans 9 to 12 months and includes a mandatory 160 hours of work placement, allowing students to gain practical experience in a licensed Long Day Care environment. The program is structured to foster a deep understanding of the legal and ethical obligations in early childhood care, as well as the cultural awareness necessary to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures. To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Complete a Pre-Training Review and meet the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skill standards for this program level and/or,
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of at least 18 years of age and/or,
  • Have a Unique Student Identification (USI) number and/or,
  • Have sufficient digital literacy skills to access online content and communicate with trainers.
