As part of this teaching course, students are required to undertake 12 hours of work placement within an approved institution: 6 hours of observation and 6 hours of practical training.

The following requirements apply for admission into this course:

  • It is recommended that students have attained the age of 18 by course start date
  • Entry quiz – Language, Literacy and Numeracy Quiz
  • Evidence of completion of Year 10 or Year 12 of Australian / New Zealand secondary school (overseas equivalent for English speaking countries) or completion of a Certificate III or higher-level Course in the Australian Qualification Framework (this must have been studied / completed in English)
  • Enrolment in other courses of study requiring equivalent or above levels of English ability (for example a University Bachelor/Master Degree)
  • Individuals whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate level of spoken and written English upon completion of a Literacy and Numeracy assessment or provide a result from an endorsed English proficiency test (with an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent)
