Intro to Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance

There are no formal educational requirements for this course.

However, you will need to:

  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills that ensure the ability to work independently and initiate and use support from a range of established resources
  • Be able to identify relevant information from a range of written texts, e.g. identifying specific information in an online course handbook or locating information on the internet
  • Complete a range of formatted texts, e.g. an incident report form
  • Read and discuss data from simple charts or tables provided

(These skills are equivalent to those that would be required to successfully achieve and ACSF Level 3 or have previously completed a Certificate III level qualification.)

And have:

  • Access to a modern computer with high-speed internet
  • Access to Microsoft office or equivalent
  • Basic computing skills including the ability to make a short video.

During this course you will be required to record video and/or audio role plays, so you will need to find 1-2 other people to participate.

Equipment and tools:

  • You may need to have access to specific tools and equipment for this course. Please enquire for details.

Work placement

  • You will  need to be 18 years of age at the time of work placement
  • Your host organisation may require you to provide an up-to-date immunisation history prior to the commencement.

160 hours of work placement are also required, consisting of 40 hours workplace learning and 120 hours workplace assessment.
