The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support (VIC & NSW) offered by Aged Care Training Services is designed for individuals aspiring to build a rewarding career in the aged care sector. This qualification reflects the essential role of support workers who engage in specialised tasks within residential, home, or community-based environments. Participants will learn to take responsibility for their outputs while adhering to organisational guidelines, ensuring quality service delivery through the development and facilitation of individualised service planning and delivery.

Throughout the course, learners will explore key areas such as empowering older individuals, coordinating services, and providing support to those living with dementia. The program combines virtual classroom training, in-person clinical practice workshops, and a mandatory practical placement, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. With a focus on fostering independence and wellbeing, this qualification equips participants with the skills needed to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the ageing population.

Please note: 120 hours of work placement is required to complete this course.

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Obtain a police check/certificate prior to practical placement and/or,
  • Willing and physically able to do practical placement and/or,
  • Undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment so that the appropriate support can be provided and or sourced and/or,
  • Access to the internet, a computer with a camera and microphone, and have basic computer literacy and/or,
  • The ability to work autonomously and a commitment to attend virtual sessions.
