The Certificate IV in School Based Education Support offered by MCIE is designed to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge required to support students in educational settings. This comprehensive course covers a range of key learning areas, including legal and ethical obligations in education, strategies for supporting student literacy and mathematics, and techniques for working with students who have diverse needs. With a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, participants will engage in 100 hours of work placement, allowing them to apply their learning in real-world environments.

Throughout the course, students will explore various aspects of education support, such as contributing to the health and wellbeing of students, facilitating learning for those with disabilities, and implementing behaviour plans. By completing this qualification, graduates will be well-prepared to pursue roles such as Teacher Aide, Education Support Worker, or Inclusion Support Worker, making a meaningful impact in the lives of students.

Please note: this course is fee for service it is not government funded

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Complete a Pre-Training Review and meet the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skill standards for this program level and/or,
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of at least 18 years of age and/or,
  • Have a Unique Student Identification (USI) number and/or,
  • Demonstrate sufficient digital literacy skills to access online content and communicate with trainers.
