About the Course

The Diploma of Automotive Technology (AUR50216) offered by South Sydney College is a nationally recognised qualification designed for experienced automotive technicians seeking to progress into advanced diagnostic and specialist technical roles. The course focuses on developing high-level analytical and problem-solving skills to analyse and evaluate complex faults across modern vehicle systems.

Students build specialist capability across mechanical, electrical, electronic, and integrated automotive systems, including engines and fuel systems, braking systems, steering and suspension systems, transmissions and driveline systems, engine and body management systems, and vehicle safety systems. Learning is delivered through a blend of classroom-based theory, intensive workshop-based diagnostic training, and supported online learning.

In addition to advanced diagnostic skills, the course develops capability in documenting technical specifications, estimating and quoting vehicle modifications, and communicating technical findings effectively. This qualification supports progression into senior diagnostic, master technician, or specialist technical roles within the automotive retail, service, and repair industry. Enquire to learn more.
