An Animal Carer gives hands-on care and health support to animals every day. They work in vet clinics, shelters, wildlife care centres, farms, and private homes. The role takes practical skill and a real focus on animal welfare.
Animal Carers feed, groom, and exercise animals, and check their health each day. They give medications as told by vets and keep clear health records. They report changes in an animal’s health and assist during vet procedures.
Talking with people is a key part of the role. Animal Carers work closely with vets, shelter staff, and pet owners. They give clear advice on care, food, and behaviour. In shelters, they check animals for adoption and help new owners through the process.
