A church leader provides faith guidance, pastoral care, and community leadership within a religious group. The role covers preaching, teaching, and running church sacraments. Most pathways into church leadership need a theology degree. A Bachelor of Theology or Bachelor of Ministry is the standard starting point. Many leaders in larger churches hold a Master of Divinity or similar advanced degree.
