The role is built on core software skills. Junior Developers work in professional services, finance and tech firms. They use Git for version control and write code in languages such as JavaScript, Python or Java. Most work in agile teams.
Working with others is key to the role. Junior Developers join stand-ups, code reviews and sprint planning. They work with senior developers, product managers and QA engineers.
The path to more senior roles is clear. After two to three years, many developers move into mid-level front-end, back-end or full-stack positions.
