1 Course

Definition of a Lifestyle Coordinator

A Lifestyle Coordinator designs, delivers and reviews client programs in aged care, disability support and community health. The role covers health promotion, care planning and program management. It needs a solid grasp of leisure and health theory and the needs of diverse groups.

Lifestyle Coordinators consult with clients, families and health teams to set goals and build activity plans. They apply proven methods to support mental, physical and social health. Their programs must meet the standards set by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

The role also covers program review, record-keeping and budget oversight. Coordinators track attendance and outcomes, reporting to management on results. They may also guide volunteers and junior staff in how to run sessions.

Average salaries sit around $73,000 per year, with senior roles reaching $90,000 or more (SEEK, 2025). As Australia’s aged care sector grows under the new Aged Care Act, demand for skilled Lifestyle Coordinators will rise. Jobs and Skills Australia projects strong growth in health and aged care work through to 2035.
