You will typically need proof of residence in WA, identification (e.g. Medicare card), and visa documentation (if applicable). Some RTOs may also require your Unique Student Identifier (USI).

What’s the difference between Jobs and Skills WA and Smart and Skilled?

Jobs and Skills WA is specific to Western Australia, while Smart and Skilled is a similar program run in New South Wales. Each has its own eligibility and funding structure.

Can businesses upskill employees through this funding?

Yes. Businesses can partner with RTOs to deliver subsidised training to their staff, especially in priority sectors. This supports workforce development and staff retention.

Is this funding available every year?

Jobs and Skills WA is an ongoing government initiative, but specific course offerings and subsidies may change based on demand and state budgets. Stay updated via Jobs and Skills WA.
